This nearly new home was thoughtfully designed for comfort, ease, and room to grow. Tucked near the quiet end of a cul-de-sac street, it enjoys a peaceful, low-traffic setting — the kind of street where evening walks feel unhurried. Inside, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms create space to spread out, host family, or welcome guests with ease. An inviting foyer opens to a formal dining room, then leads into a light-filled, open-concept kitchen and living area — a bright, easy space for everyday living. The kitchen is a true gathering place, with stainless steel appliances, generous cabinetry, and a wide center island perfect for morning coffee or evening conversation. Two primary suites — one on each level — bring rare flexibility for multigenerational living or hosting guests: the main-floor suite offers a quiet retreat with a private bath and a large walk-in closet, while the upstairs suite brings dual walk-in closets and its own en-suite bath. Upstairs also includes a versatile loft, a flexible media or playroom space, two more bedrooms, and a full hall bath. Outside, a fenced backyard offers a private, easy space to relax, garden, or let pets roam without a second thought. Storage lovers, take note: every bedroom includes its own walk-in closet, with additional pantries and closets tucked throughout the shared living spaces and bathrooms, plus a 2-car garage for even more room — plenty of space to keep life organized without sacrificing style. Zoned for Glenn C. Marlow Elementary, Rugby Middle, and West Henderson High School, this home is a comfortable fit for families settling in for the long run. It sits within Heritage Park, a small, quiet community with a relaxed, easygoing feel — a sidewalk winds through the neighborhood, easy for an evening stroll, a morning run, or a walk with the dog after a long day. This is a genuinely superior location: just minutes from shopping, the AVL airport, I-26, parks, and Fletcher's restaurants and breweries, with the Blue Ridge Parkway and endless mountain trails and waterfalls within an easy drive. Come see it for yourself — this is a home you have to walk through to really feel.

My potter’s wheel lives in the garage studio, and it has since the week I moved in. There's a full bath and a small kitchenette as well, so a day covered in clay and glaze ends with a real shower and a cup of tea, not a duck walk through the house in wet clogs. Above the workbench is a loft I use for sleeping when I pull a late night before a show, though most of the time it's just storage for drying shelves and finished inventory. The main house has two entrances that make the whole arrangement work. One door opens straight into the gallery on the ground floor, where customers browse the shelves and never have to know I'm home. The other is mine alone, leading up to where I actually live. Downstairs used to be laid out as two bedrooms, and the bones still show it: enough room for real shelving and a proper gallery wall, a cozy kitchen where I keep tea going for browsers, and a full-size, side-by-side washer/dryer tucked beside it so glaze rags and dish towels get handled in the same load. Two fireplaces down there, both converted to gas, make the space feel like somewhere to linger rather than pass through. Cold months turn out to be my better sales months because of it. Upstairs is mine: two bedrooms, a full bath, and a kitchen nice enough that I actually cook most nights instead of ordering out. The living room fireplace runs on gas now, but I've thought about switching back to wood since it can do both. My favorite part is the wonderful breeze that blows in from the sleeping porch; they sure knew how to build them! Down the path, the little building that started out as Jane Grey Syme’s summer writing cottage earns its keep as a short-term rental. As a writer who focused heavily on nature, quiet reflection, and divine peace, this location would have been an ideal sanctuary for her. She maintained this double-lot layout to ensure she had a beautiful garden buffer of native mountain laurels, rhododendrons, and mature hardwoods, keeping her close to nature, which was a core theme of her spiritual writing. There's a full bath and a stacked washer-dryer tucked into the kitchen, so guests staying a few nights don't have to ask me for anything. It runs on its own septic system, separate from the city sewer that serves the main house and studio, though the tie-in to switch it over is already in place. Most of the year it's just a place for guests to stay; during festival season I list a "pottery experience" alongside the booking (a couple of hours at the wheel, priced separately), and that add-on carries me through the slower months. Afternoons, if the shop's quiet, I walk to A Southern Cup Fine Teas, about four minutes down Greenville Highway. Flat Rock Wood Room is even closer, and their wood-fired Neapolitan is dinner more often than I'd admit. Neither trip requires getting in a car. I take a booth at the Apple Festival every year, worth the short drive for all the foot traffic. Down the road, Boxwoods and I keep a standing trade going: a few of his home goods sit on my shelves, and he keeps a handful of my pieces on his. Weekends without a festival booked, I'm usually at the Blue Ridge Humane Society, sorting donations or walking a dog that needs the practice. After Jane, the house remained in the same family from 1944 until the day I bought it. Having updated the wiring in 2011, then the plumbing, and eventually the studio, all buildings got new roofs in 2020. Everything here was already built to support exactly this kind of life; whoever's next just has to decide what to make of it.

Some homes are placed on the land. This one feels composed around it. Arrive through lush native landscaping to a custom Arts and Crafts mountain residence where stone, wood, broad windows, and handcrafted details create an organic connection between architecture and setting. An arched portico with a wood-plank ceiling frames the custom wood-and-glass entry, setting the expectation for the craftsmanship found throughout. Meticulously maintained and constructed with poured-concrete walls, the home conveys a sense of permanence from the moment you arrive. Inside, soaring ceilings, abundant glass, and open sightlines connect the foyer, great room, dining room with coffered ceiling, kitchen, and two screened porches. A substantial stone fireplace anchors the great room, while surrounding windows draw the landscape into nearly every gathering space. In summer, the leafy canopy creates the feeling of living in a treehouse; in winter, the landscape opens to a seasonal mountain view. The kitchen balances beauty and performance with rich cabinetry, generous granite workspace, a center island, and a Thermador gas cooktop. One screened porch offers space for outdoor dining surrounded by trees, while the fireplace porch extends outdoor living into cooler evenings. The main-level primary suite is a private retreat with access to the fireplace porch—a peaceful setting for morning coffee. Its spa-inspired bath features a jetted tub, walk-in shower, dual sinks, granite surfaces, and generous cabinetry. Nearby, a private study overlooks the landscaped approach. A well-planned laundry room with utility sink and expansive folding counter, powder room, and three-car garage—with space for a workshop or golf cart—bring ease and practicality to everyday living. The walkout lower level welcomes guests with two private en suite bedrooms, direct outdoor access, and a spacious family room with stone fireplace. Additional unfinished areas provide exceptional storage and possibilities for a fitness room, home theater, or hobby space. A whole-house generator with automatic transfer switch provided reassuring comfort during Helene, while central vacuum and substantial mechanical space further reflect the care invested throughout the home. Here, butterflies gather at the butterfly bush, squirrels pause at the birdbath, and deer move quietly through the trees. Set on 1.5 acres within prestigious Champion Hills, this is mountain living shaped by privacy, permanence, and a deep respect for the land. Optional Champion Hills memberships provide access to golf, tennis, pickleball, an outdoor pool, wellness facilities, dining, and an active social calendar.
